Entrance is first come first serve, so get there early!
# 2 – DANCE WITH DEATH
What: The Festival for the Living
Where: Southbank Centre
When: Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th
Why: This unusual festival on the Southbank celebrates the one thing that we all have in common – we are all going to die! While this doesn’t sound like the most fun way to spend your weekend, the event aims to alter perceptions of mortality and look at it in different ways and through a variety of mediums. This includes philosophical debates, workshops and interactive exhibitions. Events that are taking place over the weekend include a debate led by Jon Snow on Assisted Suicide, Paul Gambaccini playing the nation’s favorite funeral songs and an exhibition of the most weird and wonderful bespoke coffins from around the world. Definitely worth checking out for something a little bit different this weekend.
# 3 – JUST DANCE
What: R&S Warehouse Party featuring James Blake
Where: Secret Location!
When: Saturday 28th January
Why: Belgian record label R&S Records is fast becoming famous for its sell out parties including one at The Warehouse Project in Manchester last year. This Saturday see’s them hosting another event; this time at a secret east London warehouse featuring ambient dubstepper, and Wolf & Badger favourite James Blake. As he is only doing a few dates this year, and none in England, now is the perfect time to catch him in action! Also playing is up and coming producer Space Dimension Controller who is tipped for big things in 2012.
Have a great weekend! Xx
