What can be more stylish than beige, white and blue? The Indian Roller velvet cushion requires a light and sophisticated setting for best effect. With a radiating circular pattern in hues ranging from dark blue to turquoise, it appears Far Eastern in origin.

Flip the cushion over for a more colourful experience. The subtle shade changes of its velvet backing ebb and flow to create squares within circles within squares.

Flashes of bright blues-to-almost-purple whizz past when the male Indian Roller spreads its wings as it performs astounding aerobatics during courtship. Found on the Indian subcontinent where it's known as Nilkanth, this bird lives on beetles, grasshoppers & crickets.

Meet The Designer

Anjali Hood’s sumptuous velvet cushions are designed to instantly freshen up your room with their unique and vibrant patterns. A fascination with birds inspired her signature double-sided cushions, which have been created to match the plumage of particular birds. Velvet is her fabric of choice and one she has a deep connection with, since her family were the first to import the looms to manufacture velvet in India. As birds play such a huge part of our ecosystem, the demise of species and more recently, the demise of a huge number of seabirds, has led Anjali to partner with Birdlife International to contribute toward their conservation efforts that sustain and protect safe habitats for our feathered friends.
