Although vision is just one way of knowing the world, it is powerful. As such, we at ONE, ALL, EVERY play on the notion of vision and filters. Since shaded lenses provide a filter to protect our eyes, we sought out a designer, an artist, and four environmental pioneers to remind us to See A Clean Future. The result: a line of sustainable and inspirational sunglasses produced in collaboration with RVS Eyewear and Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, and imbued with the enlightened ideas of Sylvia Earle, Jane Goodall, Wangari Maathai and E.O. Wilson.
RVS Eyewear gave See A Clean Future sunglasses a classic, unisex, global, and, above all, environmentally prudent design wherein one frame shape offers four different lens options which correspond to the elements that make up our world: Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. They tell a story of ECO-HOPE by linking each concept with a hero from our time: Sylvia Earle (Water), Jane Goodall (Earth), Wangari Maathai (Air), and E. O. Wilson (Fire). Each of the aforementioned have provided inspirational words that correspond to the assigned element, which are inscribed on both the inside of the sunglass frames and the lens cloths. Using natural materials, Rondinone designed the packaging, the Ether, or fifth element that contains all others, as well as the exhibition walls and furniture. 100 panels will be later extracted from the walls and included in a special edition of sculptural wood boxes that will contain all four sunglasses.
The collection is a limited run of sunglasses, available from June 2019 to June 2020. During the See A Clean Future exhibition and project, OAE will donate 25% of the net sale proceeds from each unit sold of Earth, Air, and Fire glasses to the Jane Goodall Institute, the Green Belt Movement, and the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation, respectively, and will donate at least 20% of the proceeds attributable to the special edition packaging to those organizations (to be split equally).
In addition, OAE will give 25% of the of the net sale proceeds from each unit sold of Water glasses and an additional portion of the proceeds attributable to the special edition packaging, with the intention that such funds be used to support a leading charity in the fight to protect and build action for water conservation.
The See A Clean Future line is a conceptual and timeless design with a will to give back to our planet. We join a growing group of creatives in the fashion industry who have been working hard to rectify the environmental impact of fashion on our planet. Vidal Erkohen, the founder of RVS, researched far and wide the issues of sustainability in sunglass design. The result is a product made entirely from high-quality bio-degradable (sustainable) acetate, glass, and stainless steel.
The frames consist of innovative materials from the renowned Italian Mazzucchelli company using their M49 bio-plastic, which is ecofriendly, recyclable, and biodegradable. The bioplastic is produced from cotton linters and wood fibers, which are purified into a pulp and then transformed into a resin known as M49.
All metal inlays as well as temple hinges are made of stainless steel—a recyclable product. The steel is coated with ion plating which protects the surface and allows the engraving of the frames. Ion plating is a physical vapor deposition process that uses concurrent or periodic bombardment of the substrate with aluminium, which is recyclable and non-toxic to the environment.
The sunglass lenses revert back to the traditional use of glass. Typically, lenses are made from polycarbonate plastic but See A Clean Future lenses are made from natural mineral glass produced in Japan. Glass lenses are not only more environmentally sustainable but also ensure precision clarity and a more refined aesthetic, which is harder to achieve with traditional plastic lenses.
Artist Ugo Rondinone’s designs are applied to the case and box containers, which are made from recycled cardboard and eco-friendly paper in London.

Meet The Designer
Our goal is to see environmentalism as a second nature, not a political position. Everyone, regardless of their beliefs and convictions, breathes the same air and must come together to protect our planet. The One All Every team reaches out to a wide range of artists—be it visual artists, musicians, designers, poets, chefs, and so forth—collaborating with them to produce, exhibit, and sell artwork at various venues and on the One All Every e-commerce platform. Participating artists are first asked to question the sustainability of their materials and working methods, thereby encouraging change and innovation in their own practice. Next they are asked to address an environmental issue such as endangered species, oceans, carbon emissions and so forth which we will pair with a scientist, philanthropist, and/or NGO. The results always consist of evocative works of art—unique or editioned—that tell different stories both in form and in content. Viewers or participants walk away with at least an encouragement to change—sometimes consciously, sometimes subconsciously.
One All Every evolved as a remedy to the epidemical dependence on benefit auctions, which entirely miss the power of art in fundraising. Rather than exploiting artists for pure dollars, One All Every, a for-profit company, engages artists in the mission of its philanthropic partners. Together, One All Every and artists can creatively problem solve and visually communicate the message of the environmental organizations they choose to support. Artists get paid for their work, and an equally proportional donation is made to that project’s partner. Any profits earned by One All Every roll into the production of the next project. Furthermore, One All Every works with each philanthropy to communicate with and cultivate potential donors and the general public through a primary exhibition moment, ancillary events and its e-commerce platform.
One All Every’s manifestations aim for the highest degree of public visibility throughout their physical durations and beyond. They are meant to resonate in perpetuity through visual dissemination, education, and archival documentation.
