AGNESSAGA

AGNESSAGA (Agnese Tauriņa) is an illustrator, graphic designer and printmaker. AGNESSAGA graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2016 and was listed among most outstanding graduates ’16 in graphics and illustration in UAL by Computer Arts magazine. Currently she works in Oxford and Riga on various illustration, graphic design and art projects. She takes audience to a sensual and magical world. Screenprinting is the signature medium of AGNESSAGA. In her latest series of art prints AGNESSAGA invites to a primordial and blissful space where bodies merge with their lush surroundings and natural rhythms. In her collection of screen-prints AGNESSAGA explores themes of contemplation and sensuality. Indian philosophy and art have influenced the aesthetics of the collection - the works include typography in Sanskrit, popular Indian motifs such as tigers, female goddesses and more. Sanskrit phrases that are integrated in works are designed in a collaboration with University of Oxford Sanskrit researcher Valters Negribs.
