At Hākinakina, we take playing sports seriously. Surrounded by mountains, lakes and at the edge of the pacific ocean, the outdoors is our playground. But we’ve always had the feeling that serious play and skimpy swimwear are two things that just do not go together. You want to be able to relax, have fun, and do whatever you want without the fear your swimwear will leave you, well, exposed. Exposed to the sun’s harmful rays and sometimes, just plain exposed! When it comes to sun protection we believe in the old adage ‘live well and die old’ because as we know, life’s too damn short to take risks with your health. So we decided that we were going to design swimwear that not only offered full sun protection without compromise but would look good when you were wearing it too.
