All urskas' jewelry is made from 925 sterling silver and is safe to wear on your skin. Sterling silver is a beautiful precious metal that does need a little love and care to keep it at its best. Note that non of our jewelry is plated, therefore it will become slightly darker throughout time, this is due to a natural process of silver oxidation. Sterling silver will naturally tarnish with exposure to the air, environment, perfumes, moisturisers, hairspray and soaps. These are obviously a fact of life so regular cleaning will help keep your silver sparkling. It’s difficult to avoid tarnish on silver, but as this is a non-permanent chemical change it could be removed. As tarnishing is a natural process you can either accept it as part of the ageing process of your jewelry or you could try to prevent it and eventually remove it when desired.

We advise you put your jewelry on after applying hair products, hand and body creams, perfume and make-up. Remove rings when washing your hands and avoid swimming and bathing while wearing jewelry. As the structure is relatively thin and silver is known as soft metal, jewelry is quite delicate. Precious metals are soft and can distort if squeezed or twisted. Repeated twisting may cause cracking and repeated abrasion may cause permanent changes to the surface. All jewelry should be removed when engaging in activities. We recommend you put jewelry on last when dressing and take it off first when undressing. We highly recommend removing jewelry before going to sleep.
