Style notes

The Eden Necklace is formed from a delicate string of pearls, with two adornments – one a larger pearl in organic form, and the other a naturally cross-shaped pearl, with a bead of lapis suspended below.

In many ancient cultures pearls symbolise spiritual enlightenment. For this reason dragons were typically depicted in China as carrying an orb between their teeth – the pearl that symbolised the chase to grasp wisdom. In the West, pearls are often used in religious iconography to the same end. As Eve was banished from the Garden of Eden she attained wordly knowledge, but cried tears of pearls that symbolised her spiritual loss.

The Eden Necklace represents the value of this inner knowledge.

She creates ethical jewellery in Australia with emotional and historical relevance, dipping into the collective memory, all while respecting ancient custom jewellery-making traditions.
