Two Social Impact Projects Collaborate For One Cause

by Amrita Thadani

This holiday season, we have a chance to impact the lives of millions of displaced families around the world, and we would love for you to be a part of it. We are requesting you to use your platform to support CHOOSE LOVE- a grassroots organization working directly with families in refugee camps worldwide, and NEOCOCO - a Social Impact company that creates jobs for displaced women in the United States. Through this meaningful collaboration between Choose Love + Neococo, we hope to increase awareness about the ongoing refugee crisis, and to share the NEOCOCO mission with a wider audience. Every purchase of one of our unique hand embroidered T-shirts supports refugee women and our unique brand, built on a mission to empower, create equity, and support refugees. Your support will not only help achieve awareness amongst the right demographic but it will also help us cut through the noise during holiday season encouraging people to shop great design while making a positive impact.

CHOOSE LOVE

Help Refugees started as nothing more than a hashtag. Devastated by images of thousands of families arriving on European shores to be met with barbed wire, borders and batons, a group of friends used #helprefugees to organise a van full of donations in August 2015. Within a week, we had raised £56,000 and were soon receiving 7,000 items every day. Fast forward four years and we have reached over one million displaced people, worked with over 35,000 volunteers and currently support over 120 projects across Europe, the Middle East and the US-Mexico border.

NEOCOCO

Refugee families enter the United States overwhelmed with circumstances and an unpredictable future. Some families have been in transit for years, denying their kids health care and education. We partner with resettlement agencies such as the IRC (International Rescue Committee), Program for Torture Victims and LA Downtown Women's Center to train and enable women to work in a safe environment and contribute to their families and society. As a mission first company we do not ask for donations nor do we use charity as a marketing ploy. 100% of our revenue is directed back into the company to hire and assist women refugees.
