One of a set of seven finest English bone china mugs featuring Jane's original Biro drawings from her series 'In Homage to the Last Great Carnivores of Eurasia'. Hand decorated and made in Stoke-on-Trent to the highest standard by prestigious ceramic designers and manufacturers The New English, each mug has been specifically designed by Jane as a small piece of art in functional form, incorporating symbolism and a "little surprise inside!." Featuring an elegant handle, these contemporary yet timeless designs create unique conversation pieces as well as a beautiful gift for someone special. Inspired by her dog and muse Lily 'Sweet' pays homage to grey wolves, and explores the close family relationships shared by wolves, through a tale of love and loyalty between a white wolf and its black mate. This exquisite mug features unique design details, including the white wolf's wings folding inside the mug interior. With a repetition of the winged wolf on the mug back, beating wings cut across the china surface at different angles, creating a sense of flight.

Meet The Designer

Artist Jane Lee McCracken constructs intricate multi-layered Biro drawings, and sculptures and installations incorporating her drawings, designs products and is Founder of ‘Where Did All the Animals Go?’ art and environmental education project. Born in Edinburgh, her art practice explores loss to both humans and animals generated by human destruction and is representational of life's beauty and brutal reality. Sumptuous prints beautifully reproduced from her meticulous drawings which take several months to create and incorporate complex and symbolic drawing layers, are made by one of the very best printmakers in the industry. Her exquisite fine English bone china collection of plates and mugs 'In Homage to the Last Great Carnivores of Eurasia', which celebrates the beauty and majesty of threatened and endangered carnivores across the Eurasian continent, whilst highlighting the challenges they face in an uncertain world, are made in Stoke-on-Trent to the highest standard by prestigious ceramic manufacturers The New English. Luxurious 100% organic cotton T-shirts featuring Jane’s original artwork, are digitally printed by artisan printmakers using eco-friendly ink.
