Abby Carnevale's first step into forming her eponymous jewellery brand was moving to New York to take jewellery classes. After learning the basics of metalsmithing, she worked under a jewellery designer and learned the ins and outs of the business.From there she had the knowledge to create her own brand and set out to make pieces that she felt weren't represented in the market.

The jewellery label is always developing, but Abby states that the most important part of her journey was to learn from someone else first.

What have been the highest and lowest points on your journey so far?

Highest, was having Emily Mortimer wear one of my favorite necklaces on the cover of Brooklyn Magazine. Lowest, not having enough money to take every opportunity.

What is your greatest fear?

Money, haha!

How would you describe your customer base?

My customer is someone who is aware of her style and buys a piece of ACJ to add to her wardrobe. She can dress elegant and feminine or boyish and sporty, but always pulls off an effortless look.

What are the morals you run your brand by?

I try to use recycled materials as much as I can. Everything is handmade with attention and care to make each piece timeless.

Who is your mentor?

My boyfriend and my best friend. They really help coach me through every decision and are my support system.

What inspires you?

There is inspiration everywhere, but I try to be open to everything and let inspiration happen organically. I can take that inspiration, what ever it might be and apply it to my brand and aesthetics in any form, be it color, shape, materials etc.

What building holds the most sentiment for you?

I would say the house I grew up in, it is "home" to me.

What book changed your life?

To Kill a Mocking Bird was the first book I read that really moved me.

What is your most treasured possession?

My Grandmothers wedding ring.

What motto do you live your life by?

Live day by day.

How do you keep your body and mind healthy?

Running really helps me clear my mind and if I don’t stop half way through to walk it is very good exercise.

Where do you see the brand in five years?

I see my brand in stores and boutiques spanning across the world.

What drew you to Wolf & Badger? 

It being a good platform and stepping stone to bring your brand to a wider audience.

What one thing would make your life better?

A paid for vacation to the French Rivera.
