Abida Rahman

Abida Rahman is a self taught jeweller who works with recycled precious and semi-precious metals and stones to create organic sculptural forms that celebrate the beauty of the imperfect. The imperfect and incomplete evokes impermanence, passing of time, growth, age and decay. There is something human and comforting in the essence of these ideas. "My work is informed by abstract painting, sculpture, human struggle and emotion and is an ongoing journal of personal growth and change." From these talismans the wearer can draw out strength and confidence which is attained from intentional action and choosing to adorn the body in a deliberate way.
