Style notes

The microplastic pollution in our water supply is a growing concern and causes the accidental ingestion of up to 5 grams of plastic a week, which amounts to 20 Kilos of plastic in a lifetime. These are used to coat fabrics like denim and are gradually released into the water supply when washing the fabrics. For this reason, we partnered with Candiani in order to develop the Marina stole, made entirely from natural and biodegradable ingredients. The technology used to achieve this is called “V-Sizing”, which replaces all hazardous chemicals required during sizing, including PVA, thus resulting in a micro-plastic free dye process. The pattern featured on the material is unique to each scarf and is reminiscent of the Genovese seaside, where the material historically finds its origins.
