It began at Central Saint Martins where Akan first developed her penchant for design. Upon graduation, she honed her skills at Burberry where she specialized in luxury leather goods. Akan realised a discrepancy between the aesthetic ambitions of women and the realities of day-to-day life. Her collection offers both elegant and highly functional; modular handbags that would help women effortlessly transition between the office, the gym, parties and even weekends away. Akan describes her design ambition as “helping busy women to do-it- all: be fit, professional and successful, with confidence and style”. Akan is a graduate of London Business School.
