‘THE BEAT CLUB’
For their Autumn/Winter 2018 Collection Electronic Sheep dig deep to reveal their true spirit - combining nostalgia, rock n roll with cut n paste graphic style in their fascinating knits.
Established 20 years, Electronic Sheep fluently entwine drawings from their archive with typography, collage, gig flyers and zines. Authentic is their middle name – each piece has a story – the collection will resonate with any music lover and beyond. Vinyl collections, characters from their eponymous comic, skulls, trees, spray cans and soda bottles are woven together in this visually and technically ground breaking knitwear.
‘The Beat Club’ was a dive bar that the designers frequented as teenagers.
The memories and ephemera from that world fits with their contemporary style as they present monotone and colourful knits in the form of unisex scarves, dresses and tops. The collaboration pieces with Willy Carroll of ‘Stone Age’ Fanzine in London adds to their love of old school, underground authenticity.
‘The Beat Club’ collection is vibrant, fun and the genuine article.

Meet The Designer
"The coolest pair in knitwear..." - The Guardian, November 2018
Designers Brenda Aherne and Helen Delany established the knitwear label Electronic Sheep in 1998 as a result of winning several design awards.
They graduated respectively in Fashion and Graphic Design from Dublin's National College of Art & Design with stints at Central Saint Martins, De Montfort University and The School of Visual Arts, New York. Combining their disciplines they produce illustrative, graphic and colourful knitwear. Their knitted ‘tapestry-esque’ pieces have a cult following.
The scarves are knit in 100% merino wool. Designed in Dublin and London, ethically produced in Europe and made to last. The designers grew up next door to each other and have been friends since childhood. Their designs and drawings are distinctive, cultural pieces woven with unique stories. Their past and friendship is evident in their fun approach to design and in their lovingly made collections: ‘The Beat Club’, ‘Universal Cowboy’, ‘Holly goes to Paris’ and ‘Red Lemonade’... – to name a few!
