Meet The Designer
The first brand uses “Fengshui” (5 elements the Oriental world made of) to create authentic mandala patterns and printed them on pure silk to make scarves. "A mandala is a simplified universe, we condense concepts into artwork under mandala form so that for hundreds of years later every time you look at a mandala, you'll see another aspect of the theme." Each mandala took months to create from start to finish. In nearly two years 2016 & 2017, in total they could only released 6 mandalas: Metal, Tree, Water, Fire, Earth and Vietnam. Being a culturous mix literally, the designers behind GISY includes Gijs Voogt ( from the Netherlands) and Yen Voogt (from Vietnam) met each other in 2009 and set up GISY in 2011 (same year with their marriage.) GISY (pronounced "gee-zee", stands for Gijs-IS-Yen) is known for its classy-boho style and "can be lack of anything but not authenticity."
