This ring plays on the traditional four clawed engagement ring setting but with pigeons claws creating the bespoke structure holding the stone within their grasp. The large sunshine citrine is the birds prize possession. The geometric straight lines of the faceted stone contrast nicely with the organic rough texture of the claws and the sparkling yellow stone compliments the golden nails that it sits. Cast in solid silver the piece features Tessa Metacalf's trademark hand-painted gold plated nails adding that touch of fantasy. This is a narrative piece, a real show stopper, flaunting the humble street pigeons feral lust for jewels. Based on Tessa Metcalf's fantasy London underworld.

The citrine is one of an antique collection so no two are quite the same. They vary in size, cut and shade.
Handmade in London

Meet The Designer

Born and bred in Hackney, London, Tessa Metcalfe became fascinated with birds early on. After graduating from the University of Brighton, she started designing her line of jewelry with a desire to combine the myths of Leda and the Swan and The Ugly Duckling. Her collection has ‘found beauty in the gutter’ - inspired by the underworld of her hometown.
