Lu West is a South African printmaker and illustrator working and living in London, United Kingdom. Working from her Kew Gardens Studio, Lu uses traditional silkscreen printing to create her bold and colorful limited edition wall art.. Favorite motifs include delightful animals in their natural habitats, seascapes, plants and flowers. Playing with scale and pattern, the result is a graphic and unique aesthetic. Most prints are only printed in an edition of 100 or less per screen. “My print studio is my happy place where I create each print with a lot of love, care and attention to detail. I really want to focus on art that brings daily joy to the home.” Lu’s colorful print designs have been used on products for Magpie such as coffee mugs, plates, storage tins and espresso sets and greeting cards for Black Olive.
