Today’s Music Monday is inspired by the BBC’s Sound of 2012 longlist which was revealed this morning. The Sound of 2012 highlights the most exciting new artists that will be ones to watch for the year ahead.

The list, which has been running for 10 years is compiled by more than 80 of the most influencial editors, critics and producers of the moment. Previous winners of the award include Adele, Ellie Goulding and one of our favourites, James Blake.

You can see the full list of nominee’s here.

In the Wolf & Badger office we are backing either Brooklyn based bands Friends who we have written about before, or from the UK, new London band Spector whose dreamy vocals and melancholic melodies are getting them plenty of fans and critical acclaim. Alongside a tour in the new year with Florence + The Machine, their debut album is also set for release in 2012. We are currently loving ‘Grey Shirt and Tie’

Spector will also be playing a rare live date tonight at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club, although we suspect after the release of this list, it will be sold out!

Enjoy. Xx
