Two-in-one earrings that celebrate the Hawaiian coral reef – remove the drop to wear them as studs. Blue octocorals are Hawaiian snowflakes of the sea – these will gently sway from your ears as you move. A real soft coral measures only a few millimeters up to about 7mm in diameter, but they really do look like snowflakes! Hand carved and made in Hawaii.

CARE
Please store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, ideally in anti-tarnish pouches.

All jewelry will eventually tarnish, so 'Alohi Kai silver jewelry comes with a non-toxic coating to ward it off. After wearing, just clean with gentle soap and water, and dry with a soft cloth. After a while the coating may wear off; if it does we recommend a soft polishing cloth in addition to the soap and water.

And remember to care for your jewelry by keeping it away from harsh chemicals including chlorine, salt and beauty products. Also avoid knocking, scratching or otherwise damaging your jewelry while performing activities. Look after your jewelry and it will last generations!

ABOUT BLUE OCTOCORAL
Also known as Blue Soft Coral, the pretty little octocoral polyps are often found on the reef clinging to rocks in rough, surgy areas. Measuring only a few millimeters across, they can be easy to overlook due to their size and color, but on closer examination, they are beautiful bouquets ranging from blue to purplish-brown. Called ‘octo’ because of their eight-fold symmetry, they lack the hard skeletons of most of the corals of Hawaii. These snowflake-like corals look delicate, but are hardy survivors and are endemic to Hawaii.
The small coral is approx. 12 mm across
The larger coral is approx. 22 mm across
Earring is approx 34 mm tall

Meet The Designer

'Alohi Kai Jewelry is born from a love of the deep blue, and created by hand with sweat and fire and aloha in Hawaii. Each of our designs has a story to tell of underwater adventures, ocean hardship, survival and ingenuity, as well as our own journey of discovery and inspiration. Using ‘slow’ methods we hand carve our designs from underwater photos we take in clear Hawaiian waters. We do things by hand and design to be coveted, creating with attention to detail. And we work hard to use processes and materials that are sustainable so we don't harm the ocean we love; our jewelry represents thousands of hours not just observing wildlife, but clearing line, hooks, garbage and on occasion, freeing creatures caught up in it.
