Tohum Design

The designer behind Tohum Design, Verda Alaton was born into an artistic family in Istanbul. After living and working in New York for five years, she founded the brand in 2008. As a designer, Verda Alaton has found her inspiration in the simple beauty of ethnic arts, particularly native adornment which combines natural forms with powerful expression. Discovering their uninhibited relationship with nature has been a big influence on her work. A devoted traveller, she collects original pieces for her designs and finds inspiration for future pieces. Every Tohum Design is a bespoke piece, hand crafted using traditional techniques.
