Ember Field Throw
Ember Field Throw
Handwoven in the far north of Ghana by Dagaaba women weavers. Constructed of wool roving, wool yarn and linen yarn, each piece has two contrasting sides; a textured side with wool loops, and a flatter, more tightly woven side.
It takes three weavers one week to create each piece, and the inspiration for the patterns comes from the savannah land of the district where the weavers live. ‘Ember Field’ copies a field that smoulders after having been set alight at the end of the farming process.
The product arrived really soon.
I will keep buying in this website, even though I live in Spain....

Meet The Designer
From the women weavers of the Dagaaba region in the far north of Ghana.
Boon & Up present a collection of beautiful homeware products handmade in Ghana for the UK market. Our throws, cushions, blankets and rugs have all been expertly woven by Dagaaba women weavers using traditional handlooms and sustainable materials. Boon & Up throws and cushion covers are made from 100% sustainable cotton grown by smallholder African farmers under the ‘Cotton made in Africa’ initiative, the wool for our blankets and rugs is surplus wool bought from mills in north England.
We strive to create sumptuous and unique pieces while remaining authentic to local tradition. By adapting our designs for a new market Boon & Up will bring much needed employment to this impoverished part of our world. In addition, 20% of profits will be invested in projects that will provide further job opportunities in the district.
