Style notes

Square art print from ink painting featuring 9 colorful varieties of Koi on a blue and neutral background. Printed on Hahnemühle German Etching paper.
Koi are also called 'living jewels' for their extravagant coloring. The print features the actual colors of the koi breeds. They are Sanke, Kigoi, Asagi, Tancho, Kumonryu, Matsuba, Utsuri, Goromo and Soragoi.

Koi prints are very popular in many parts of the world and are believed to promote peace of mind and prosperity. Koi are also a symbol of courage and overcoming obstacles, because the wild varieties swim rivers back upstream to breed, navigating the strong currents and many obstacles. All the colorful koi varieties are originally bred from brown carp.
