O you virtuous owle, The wise Minerva's only fowle. —Philip Sidney. This enamel Owl pin is embellished with a grey cat's eye glass cabochon symbolizing the moon. Minerva is the Roman goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare. Minerva is not a patron of violence such as Mars, but of defensive war only. She is often depicted with her sacred creature, an owl usually named as the "owl of Minerva", which symbolizes her association with wisdom and knowledge.
Copper may become tarnished over time. To polish, use lemon juice to wet the copper then sprinkle some table salt on the surface of the copper. Using a soft cloth, rub the copper piece to remove the tarnish. A pro tip is to sprinkle the salt on the cut half of the lemon and then rub the copper with the lemon. After a few minutes, the copper is going to be shiny and lustrous. Rinse and dry.
