Notebook with black and white 'Sleeping Dogs’ print. The print is from pen and ink drawings. These notebooks are made with silk offcuts from the scarf production, in an ethical production facility run in the UK and in India.

The start and end papers are a bright blue and the bookmark ribbon is an uplifting shade of orange. There is an 'ex libris' drawing printed on the inside front, with a space to write the owner’s name into the drawing. The pages are plain white cartridge paper with a medium weight and smooth surface. The paper is ideal for writing and sketching with ballpoint pen, fountain pen, pencils or fineliners.

The size is 5×7 in, ca. 13×18 cm, ideal for carrying in a handbag or on travels.

Arlette is a visual artist specialising in ink drawing. She started her design career at Alexander McQueen and is now one of the artists contributing to the iconic scarves collections by Hermès Paris. ARLETTE ESS is her own luxury accessories label. All the scarf designs are based on originals of indian ink artworks. The drawings have an emphasis on texture, which translate into intricate, refined prints with an understated elegance. The label started with her signature fur prints. Arlette often uses animals as subjects, but is interested in the stories and meanings we project into them.
