The “DEMI” skirt made from 100% Dupion silk should be treated very gently to preserve its shine, structure, and shape. Dry cleaning is safest, especially because of the voluminous cut, elastic waist, pleats, and pockets. Avoid machine washing, soaking, wringing, or tumble drying, as silk can lose its texture and sheen. If needed, air it out between wears and spot clean carefully. Iron only on very low heat from the inside with a cloth barrier, or use light steam carefully.

A Dupion silk skirt should ideally be dry cleaned only to preserve its distinctive texture, natural sheen, and structure. Dupion silk is more textured than regular silk and can develop watermarks or lose its crisp finish if washed improperly. Avoid machine washing, soaking, wringing, or tumble drying. Between wears, air the skirt out and spot clean minor marks carefully if needed. If wrinkles appear, use a low silk setting or light steam from the inside, keeping direct heat to a minimum. Store it hanging or laid flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
