AYA DESIGN

Mineo Yamaguchi is the founder of AYA Inc., a Japanese design company merging serene luxury with avant-garde engineering. A former designer at Comme des Garçons and Li & Fung, he holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Design. His prêt-à-porter label, AYA DESIGN, combines recycled high-performance materials with artisan techniques, contributing to a circular economy. Inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s Universal Space and his upbringing in Japan’s underground culture, Yamaguchi creates genderless, architectural silhouettes meant to transcend generations. “AYA” symbolizes both twill weave and human connection, defining a new ecosystem of fashion rooted in local craftsmanship and global consciousness.
