As we wrap up B Corp Month, we’re celebrating one of the incredible conscious brands on our platform: Atma Prema.

Inspired by the beauty of nature, Atma Prema designs jewellery that encapsulates the profound spirit of connection between humans and the earth, the sky, and everything in between. Their pieces are handcrafted with love using ethically sourced gemstones and recycled gold, all with a deep commitment to sustainability and intention.

We sat down with the Atma Prema team to find out more about their mission and values, their relationship with sustainability, and their interaction with the Wolf & Badger guarantee system.

Tell us about your brand. Where did the idea come from and what makes it different from other brands in the industry?

Atma Prema was born from my personal journey of self-love and mindfulness. The name itself means "self-love" in Sanskrit, and it encapsulates the core philosophy behind each piece—jewellery as a reminder to love yourself, be present, and embrace your uniqueness.

What sets Atma Prema apart from other brands is the intentionality behind the designs. Each piece is created with a deep reverence to the earth and mindfulness, meant to inspire and empower those who wear them. Our jewellery is crafted from ethically-sourced gemstone beads, pearls, and 14k gold - materials that have traditionally been used in healing and mindfulness, and that hold profound meaning. It’s not just about adornment; it’s about connection—connection to oneself and to something deeper.

What drew you to Wolf & Badger?

Wolf & Badger’s commitment to independent, ethically conscious brands resonates with the values of Atma Prema. I was drawn to their platform because they actively support artisans and designers who are mindful of their environmental and social impact. It’s important to me to partner with platforms that align with my brand’s ethos of sustainability and intentional living, and Wolf & Badger provides a space where conscious consumers can discover brands like mine.

What are your brand’s core values and how do they show through in your creative process, your supply chain, and production?

Atma Prema is founded on the values of self-love, mindfulness, and sustainability. These values are integrated into every aspect of the brand—from the design process to material sourcing and production. I prioritise using ethically sourced materials and work with suppliers who share my commitment to minimising environmental impact.

The creative process itself is a reflection of mindfulness, with each piece designed to inspire a sense of peace and inner reflection. My goal is to create timeless jewellery that enhances a deeper connection to oneself and the world around us.

Have any of the guarantees inspired you to alter processes in order to be more sustainable and ethical?

Yes, the guarantees around sustainability and ethical production have pushed me to re-evaluate my supply chain to ensure that every step reflects the values of Atma Prema. While sustainability has always been a core priority, working with partners like Wolf & Badger has encouraged me to take even more responsibility in tracking the origins of materials and maintaining transparency throughout the process. It’s a constant evolution toward greater sustainability.

How have Wolf & Badger’s guarantees encouraged you to think about environmental and social impact within your manufacturing process? Have you or do you plan to do anything differently as a result?

Wolf & Badger’s guarantees have definitely been an inspiration to reflect on how I can further reduce the environmental footprint of Atma Prema’s production. While I’ve always worked with ethically sourced materials, I plan to implement more transparent communication with customers about the sustainable aspects of each piece and continue improving the brand's overall environmental impact.

Is there a particular way your brand allows you to give back to your community?

Atma Prema is committed to supporting initiatives that empower women and promote mindfulness. It’s important to me that the brand not only fosters self-love for those who wear the jewellery but also gives back to communities in meaningful ways. In the future, I hope to expand this initiative and collaborate with more local organisations to make a broader impact.

Any exciting developments for your brand in the future?

There are definitely some exciting things on the horizon for Atma Prema! We are planning to expand our collection to include more customisable and limited-edition pieces that are even more personal and meaningful to our customers. We’re also exploring more pop-up events and collaborations with other like-minded brands and creatives. My goal is to continue building a community around Atma Prema where people can experience the brand in a tangible, connected way.

If you could change one thing to make retail fairer, what would it be and why?

I would like to see more transparency in the entire supply chain—from material sourcing to production methods. Often, consumers are unaware of the impact their purchases have on both the environment and the artisans who create the products. By making the supply chain more transparent, customers could make more informed decisions, and brands would be encouraged to take more responsibility for their ethical and sustainable practices. It’s about fostering a fairer ecosystem where everyone—consumers, brands, and producers—can benefit.
