Alexis Ren walks us through the story behind Sereia, her belief that fashion and wellness are deeply intertwined, and why she's building a brand designed to outlast the trend cycle

We had the wonderful pleasure of speaking with actress, entrepreneur, and founder of independent brand Sereia, Alexis Ren (@alexisren), about the intersection of fashion, wellness, and intentional living — from the childhood inspirations that shaped her love of style to the timeless, vintage-inspired world she's building through her brand.

1

Can you share a bit about your journey into fashion? What inspired you to start a jewelry brand?

Fashion has always been a part of my life. I was homeschooled growing up, so I spent a lot of time at home but that never limited my creativity. I would plan my outfits for every day of the week, even for something as simple as running errands with my mom. She was really my first inspiration. No matter what she was doing, she always showed up with intention. Her hair done, her makeup done, always feeling put together. That stayed with me. It taught me that beauty and fashion aren’t about the occasion, they’re about how you move through the world.

That early love naturally evolved into Sereia. I’ve always been drawn to timeless glamour, old Hollywood, femininity, pieces that feel like they carry a story. Creating a jewelry brand felt like the most intimate way to express that.

2

Your career has moved through the wellness industry. Are there any parallels you’ve drawn between the fashion and wellness spaces?

To me, fashion and wellness are deeply connected. We wear clothes to feel something - to feel confident, expressive, beautiful, but if you don’t feel good within yourself, it doesn’t matter what you put on.

My relationship with style really evolved as I deepened my relationship with myself - through my mental health, my faith, and taking care of my body in a holistic way. Our body is our home, it’s our foundation. Fashion then becomes an extension of that inner state. It’s similar to how I see skincare versus makeup - you want real health underneath.

The outer layer should enhance what’s already there, not replace it.

3

Where does Sereia, with its mission to empower its wearers, fit between the two?

Sereia sits right at that intersection.

For me, it’s about timelessness and intention. We live in such a fast, noisy world where trends come and go so quickly, and I wanted to create something that felt slower. Something that could exist outside of that cycle. Pieces that feel like they belong to you, not just to a moment.

It’s also deeply personal. I see Sereia as a way to tell my story through the lens of Hollywood, femininity, and strength. I hope when someone wears it, they feel connected to something enduring within themselves.

4

You’ve been involved with sustainability initiatives such as Future Prosperity. How has that informed your approach to Sereia?

That work really instilled a sense of mindfulness in me. It shifted how I think about consumption and value.

I’ve always loved vintage, and that’s a big part of why Sereia is vintage-inspired. There’s something incredibly special about pieces that already have a life, a history. It naturally creates a more circular way of engaging with fashion.

That perspective has influenced how I want to build Sereia. Not just as a brand, but as something that encourages longevity, care, and emotional connection to what we own.

5

What role do you think platforms like Wolf & Badger—and the independent, ethical designers they support—play in shaping a more sustainable fashion industry?

Platforms like Wolf & Badger are incredibly important because they help shift the narrative. Fashion is art but when it became fast and disposable, like fast food, we lost a lot of that intention and care. Quality went down, and so did our relationship to what we wear.

What I love about platforms like theirs is that they highlight designers who are creating with purpose. They remind people that fashion can be something you keep, something you value, something that lasts. And I think, ultimately, that’s what we’re all craving, even if we don’t always realize it.

6

How do you personally approach sustainability in your own work?

For me, it starts with awareness. We’re always thinking about our footprint and how we can be more intentional in every part of the process. from design to production to packaging. It’s not about being perfect, but about being conscious and continually improving. Building something that lasts, both in quality and in meaning, is a big part of that for me.

7

What’s next for you and Sereia?

Sereia is just getting started. We’re expanding beyond jewelry into a fuller lifestyle. Pieces that feel cohesive with the world we’re building. I’m also really excited to continue integrating storytelling into the brand through film, through campaigns, through the way the pieces are experienced.

At the core of it, I want Sereia to feel like a world people can step into. Something timeless, feminine, and evolving.
