Discover Copenhagen through the eyes of George Graham.
As a frequent traveler and CEO at Wolf & Badger, I’ve come to value the unique spirit of Copenhagen. It’s a city that masterfully blends contemporary innovation with centuries-old traditions, all while maintaining a relaxed, approachable vibe. Known as a leading hub for sustainable fashion, the city has firmly established itself as a global leader in eco-conscious design. Copenhagen’s commitment to sustainability extends far beyond fashion—it’s woven into the very fabric of the city, from its bike-friendly streets to its green spaces. If you're planning a trip, here’s my guide to experiencing the heart and soul of this captivating city.
1
Start Your Day with Juno the Bakery’s Fastelavnsboller
If your visit coincides with Fastelavn (Danish Carnival season, typically February), be sure to stop by Juno the Bakery. Their Fastelavnsboller—traditional cream-filled buns—are not to be missed. These treats are at their best when they’re freshly baked, creating the perfect pairing with your morning coffee. Each bite offers a delightful mix of rich cream and soft, pillowy dough, and it’s a local ritual that captures the essence of Danish comfort food.

Immerse Yourself in Art at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek
The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is a treasure trove for art enthusiasts. This museum offers an impressive mix of ancient and modern art, with a particular focus on sculpture. The museum’s interior is equally inviting, with a central winter garden that provides a peaceful, serene atmosphere. It’s one of my favorite places to lose myself in both history and creativity—a quiet oasis where you can reflect on art and culture.

Discover the David Collection
For a more intimate museum experience, make sure to visit the David Collection. This hidden gem holds an exceptional collection of Islamic art, as well as Danish and European fine and decorative art. The museum’s charm lies in its personal scale—it’s a place where you can linger and truly appreciate the detail in each piece. The curated collections offer a deeper understanding of craftsmanship, history, and the beauty of design across cultures.

Visit the Library and Its Exceptional Architecture
Copenhagen’s Royal Library, also known as the Black Diamond, is an architectural masterpiece. Its striking black granite exterior, sleek lines, and bold design make it one of the city’s most visually impressive landmarks. Inside, the space is equally captivating, with expansive, open areas that make it feel like a place designed for both reflection and creativity. Whether you’re here to browse books or simply enjoy the design, the library is a must-see for anyone who appreciates architectural beauty.

Cycle and Soak in the City’s Vibes
Copenhagen is a city made for cycling, and there’s no better way to explore its diverse neighborhoods than by bike. With its well-maintained bike lanes, you can easily cruise through the cobbled streets, along the canals, and through green parks. Cycling allows you to absorb the city’s sights at your own pace—from the colorful facades of Nyhavn to the leafy paths of Frederiksberg Gardens. It’s the perfect way to experience Copenhagen’s rhythm and discover both well-known and off-the-beaten-path spots. Copenhagen is a city where art, history, and modern life effortlessly intertwine. So, whether you’re savoring pastries, exploring museums, marveling at architecture, or cycling through the city, take your time to soak it all in. There’s a unique energy here that invites curiosity, and I guarantee you’ll leave feeling inspired and already dreaming of your next visit.
