The continent is calling. Whether you're bound for Santorini or Spain, here's what to pack for every kind of escape.
Europe in summer can mean many things at once: terracotta villages and neon-lit clubs, clifftop dinners and morning markets, cobbled streets and crystal water. The question isn't how to pack light — it's how to pack right.
Luckily for you, we're here to the stress out of packing with a destination-by-destination dressing guide — so you can spend less time squeezing outfits into your suitcase and more time actually living in them.
The Amalfi Coast, Italy
The mood: Slow luxury, limoncello at noon, and linen that looks intentional even when creased.
The Amalfi Coast rewards the understated dresser. Think fluid silhouettes in natural fibres — linen trousers, wide-leg linen pants, bias-cut midi dresses in warm ivory, terracotta, and sandy neutrals. The locals here don't try hard, and neither should you, so opt for sun-faded colours in place of vivid prints.
For evenings — especially if you're heading to Positano or Ravello for dinner — elevate your style with a silk slip dress or a wide-shouldered blazer over a simple camisole. Heel-friendly cobblestones don't exist, so lean into strappy flat sandals and mules.
Pack: Linen co-ords, midi slip dresses, wide-brimmed straw hats, leather sandals with ankle ties, and a lightweight knit for breezy boat rides.

Santorini, Greece
The mood: Golden hour, dramatic views, al-fresco dinners
Lean into Santorini's unapologetically photogenic scenery with a flowing dress that earns its moment among the blue-domed churches and whitewashed walls. Maxi dresses in white, cream, and soft blue will do the heavy lifting, while crochet cover-ups, bandeau tops, and wide-leg linen trousers will work beautifully for a day on the town.
Evening dining on the caldera calls for an outfit styled with a little more intention — a one-shoulder dress, a co-ord in a rich jewel tone, or a silky wrap dress. The heat will stick to your skin well into the night, so opt for natural fabrics in place of synthetics.
Pack: White maxi dresses, crochet cover-ups, wrap dresses in earthy tones, a lightweight sarong that doubles as a scarf, comfortable espadrilles for cliff walks.

The French Riviera
The mood: Effortless old money glamour, leisurely aperitif hour, and scenic beaches.
The Côte d'Azur has an unspoken dress code: effortless, polished, and never overdone. Think striped Breton tops, tailored shorts in neutral or navy, and simple one-piece swimwear. For evenings in Nice or Saint-Tropez, a linen blazer thrown over a simple slip dress covers every occasion from aperitif to late dinner.
The French Riviera rewards investment pieces — an elegant sundress, a pair of well-cut trousers — rather than throwaway buys. Lean into navy, white, soft red, and earthy stone tones, and keep jewellery minimal. The cut of your clothes should do the work.
Pack: Breton stripes, tailored linen separates, a sleek one-piece, simple gold jewellery, a structured tote, kitten heel mules for evening.

Ibiza, Spain
The mood: Sunrise to sunset to sunrise again. Every outfit is a dance floor outfit.
Ibiza dressing has its own logic: bold, tactile, maximalist, and always slightly underdressed. Crochet is practically a uniform, as are cut-outs, statement prints, and barely-there silhouettes. The island is all about the fearless dresser – if an outfit verges on too bold, you'll fit right in.
Daytime shifts between beach and old town Ibiza, where boho maxi dresses and oversized linen shirts are the natural register. Evenings heading to Pacha or Amnesia, on the other hand, call for something that can hold its own on a dance floor — think sequins, sculptural bodycon, metallic mesh, or mini skirts with a barely-there top.
Pack: Crochet sets, statement printed co-ords, something sequined for evenings, oversized linen shirts, sturdy sandals that can manage all-night wear.

Dubrovnik & the Dalmatian Coast, Croatia
The mood: Ancient walls, impossibly blue water, boat-hopping between islands.
Croatia's coastline is rugged and dramatic, and your wardrobe should be practical enough to keep pace. Linen is essential — it handles both the heat and the casual elegance of a seaside lunch. Loose trousers and easy sundresses are ideal for the old town walls in Dubrovnik, as is comfortable footwear — the limestone is both beautiful and endlessly slippery.
If heading on the water or island-hopping to Hvar, a great swimsuit and quality cover-up will be all you need. Evening in Hvar town calls for a chic strappy midi or a sleek linen set to take you from boat to bar without a second thought.
Pack: Quality swimwear, a stylish kaftan, linen trousers and loose shirts, a strappy midi for evening, comfortable flats for walking the old town.

Lisbon, Portugal
The mood: Faded European cool, incredible food, pink sunsets over the Tagus, tiles on every wall.
Lisbon is a city break with soul – and your suitcase should match. Instead of adding resort wear to your packing list, opt for sharp, interesting separates and interesting textures, from statement blouses and wide-leg trousers to unique denim. The city's hills (and they are real hills — seven of them, to be precise) mean flat shoes aren't just sensible, they're essential. Pack leather loafers, clean trainers, or strappy flat sandals.
For both day and night, keep your colour choices chic: terracotta (it matches the city's architecture), burnt orange, dusty rose, and classic neutrals all fit the mood.
Pack: Wide-leg trousers, interesting statement tops, great flat leather shoes or loafers, a lightweight jacket for evenings, quality denim.
