Translating the Unseen Poetry of the Natural World into Silk Compositions  For years, Richard Stone has collected leaves on his walks through the forest beside his home, photographed them, and then painted on them digitally — layering images one over another, even bringing into the mix one of thousands of macro images of tree bark and lichen he's captured. Each composition is distinct, offering up a little gem that transforms the leaf in his hand into something extraordinary, almost jewel-like. We then print the compositions on both sides of 100% Mulberry Silk Twill, so the color and design hold no matter which face is showing. And our artisans hand-roll and hand-sew every edge. They come beautifully wrapped in a distinctive package that quietly announces something special is inside.
