yumi, shortened from mayumi, is a filipino word that translates to ‘intricate’ and ‘fine’. Coincidentally, in Japanese, yumi also means ‘beautiful’. Truly, these are what our brand represents — pieces intricately and delicately made by hand by our experienced local artisans using natural fibres found in Bicol, a region in the southern part of Luzon, Philippines. Indeed, each piece is beautifully and meticulously made whilst being true to the philosophy we stand for. We, at yumi, immensely believe in being interconnected, that the lives we live today should not impair the lives of the next generations to come.
