Product Details

A Victorian glasshouse in high summer, drawn by hand and printed onto mulberry silk twill. Giant lily pads float across still blue water while pink and lilac waterlilies open between them, framed by Art Nouveau ironwork in soft gold. The design was inspired by the giant water lilies grown under glass at Kew, which flower for two nights only. The twill weave gives the silk a soft sheen and enough body to hold a knot without slipping. Every edge is rolled and stitched by hand. The 90 by 90 cm square is large enough to wear across the shoulders, folded at the neck, or tied to a bag. It is made in small batches and presented in a Silk and Bears gift box.

Dry clean recommended. Alternatively hand wash cold with a mild detergent, do not wring or tumble dry. Dry flat away from direct sunlight. Cool iron on the reverse. Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray and jewelry to protect the hand-rolled hem.
