For centuries, the Cowrie shell has been used as a form of currency in Africa, Asia, Latin America. In Nepal and India, it symbolises wealth and womanhood and is used in ceremonies to worship the Goddess Laxmi. The Posh Totty Designs Cowrie Shell Necklace is inspired by a beachcombed tidal Cowrie shell from Tulum, Mexico. Handmade by our jewellers in Brighton in 925 sterling silver.
