Coventina was a goddess in charge of the rivers, wells and springs. This pendant, a small shell that has travelled in her waters, is a token to remember the power of a river. The Coventina reminds the wearer of their inner power, calm above there can be strong currents hidden beneath. Water will cut its own path, water is life eternal and this little pendant is a reminder that no matter what you can carry on and grow.

Coventina is a token inspired by the Romano-British goddess herself. In charge of wells, springs and rivers, she has been associated with healing, renewal, time, abundance, new beginnings, inspiration, prophecy and wishes.
A shrine to her can be found near Hadrian's Wall.

Handmade in the Pearly Hawkers workshop in her home town of Colchester.

Taking inspiration from the realms of history, mythology, music, stories and more, I try to fill every piece with symbolism and meaning. Pearly Hawker is a brand that not only uses fine materials, but also uses brass, recycled metals and recycled stones. Nothing should be lost or forgotten, sometimes it just needs a different angle and a new story to evolve. Jewelry that is wearable, interesting and beautiful, it is my I aim to make pieces that hold a sense of wonder and awe even as they are passed down.
