Joyaux Marisol

Joyaux Marisol is a social enterprise dedicated to protecting and empowering women. After learning about the ongoing femicide in Eastern Congo, Brooklyn-based jewelry artist Miranda Leigh began designing the Marisol umbrella, sunglasses, and other refined goods to express solidarity. Ten percent of profits provide survivors of sexualized violence at Panzi Hospital and its sister organization Maison Dorcas in Eastern Congo with holistic arts programs that allow these women to release their trauma and heal themselves while earning income as artists, raising their self-esteem and the way in which they are perceived by others within their communities. Ten percent of profits support the documentary film "The Uncondemned," the story of the first conviction of rape as a war crime. Open your eyes to a world where women are safe and free.
