Matthew Campbell Laurenza gathers his creative inspiration for his jewelry from a number of eras, ranging from Chinese antiquities to elaborate Renaissance motifs, and Art Deco style to Gothic sculptures. Matthew followed his passion for the arts and enrolled at Bellarmine University specialising in sculpture. While attending Bellarmine, Matthew began designing custom-made jewelry pieces for local clients, leading to him launching M.C.L. in 1998.
